Silver Threads

Golden threads
Once sparkled
In the sunlight

Shiny and long
Waving back at the wind
Once free and bright

Golden threads
Turned to silver
Stoic in the moonlight

Silver threads
Remember the golden
Fondly in hindsight

And silver threads
Masquerade
To conceal their plight

  1. Oh, WOW my dear girl! I am so excited I have tears on my eyeballs. Good for you this is wonderful. Will definitely do a shout out later today and you are officially added to the blogroll. Amazingly well done dear heart. Go get um and let the words roll like marbles.

Aw Sara, you are so sweet. πŸ™‚ Thank you.

I am so undeserving. Really. I know that anything I write will never compare to the kind of stuff that you, Jaymie, and Danielle put out. You guys simply inspire me though, to get back in touch with that time in my life where the words felt freer somehow, like I could pluck them out of the air.

I need to do the About page, and I hope to address that this week, but for now I wanted to at least get something up, and I also wanted a place to put up those snippets of my old poems that pop back into my head from time to time.

I am super rusty though, which is probably a good thing because I was never that good of a poet to begin with, just angsty! LOL

  3. This is stunning. I’m finally letting the silver shine and it is a strange transition. You captured it well.

    Thank you. πŸ™‚

It is a little disconcerting, isn’t it? I knew it would happen eventually – but eventually got here before I did.
